How Does Accelerate Measure Success?

I was asked the other day, "How do you measure success with Accelerate?"

To determine this we must look at our mission, who we serve, what they need and our vision

The Accelerate Mission is to:

    Attract, inspire and equip Kingdom-minded leaders and

    Connect them so they can

    Collaborate with their time, talent and treasure so we

    Accelerate the creation of healthy, reproducing faith communities resulting in

       transformed lives and transformed communities

We Serve: church planting pastors

Our Vision:
Healthy church planting pastors developing healthy reproducing churches resulting in

transformed lives and transformed communities

What Church  Planters Need:
Common Best Practices for Equipping Church Planters
1.  Assessment
2.  Church planting training
3.  Internship, residency, or church planting experience
4.  Sponsoring churches involved in helping the plant
5.  Administrative and strategic support
6.  Coaching/mentoring relationship
7.  Peer-to-peer relationships
8.  Ongoing training opportunities
9.  Exposure to available resources

Measuring success:
Our success will be through raising up the leaders and structures that make possible the equipping, encouragement and accountability new pastors and churches need. These are illustrated in the Common Best Practices for Equipping Church Planters. We provide some of these through coaching networks and some through creating collaborative efforts with other organizations.

We can measure:
1. Number of coaches raised up to lead coaching networks
2. Number of coaching networks
3. Planting pastors participating
4. Number of church planting churches and sponsoring churches
5. National network involvement in city
6. Survivability rate at 4 years of participants
7. Financial sustainability at 4 years of participating churches
8. Number of new churches that reproduce in 4 years

Anecdotal responses from pastors and leaders will illustrate life, church and community impact

Accelerate

Mission: An Alliance of church planting churches, networks and denominations to accelerate church planting in the Washington / Baltimore corridor

Vision: Coming alongside in a collaborative effort to attract, inspire and equip kingdom-minded leaders to engage their time, talent and treasure in catalyzing a movement of healthy, reproducing faith communities.

 

We collaborate to:

A.    Serve Church Planters:

(Pastors who are launching new churches)

1.    Creating Coaching Networks for peers of planting pastors led by experienced church planters providing encouragement, equipping and permission giving

Goal: 5 Coaching Networks running, 7 coaches recruited in 2012

2.    Meeting, encouraging, consulting and networking with church planters

Goal: Meet two planters weekly in 2012. Recruit to coaching networks.

Visit new church services twice monthly

B.    Serve Church Planting Churches:

(Churches who have significantly helped at least 3 new churches launch in the last 5 years)

1.    Strategic learning sessions with Church Planting Church leaders to share learnings and stimulate progress

Goal: Yearly spring gathering with best practice discussions

           

2.    Networking together churches and national planting networks to establish church planting churches as equipping centers

            Goal: Two new equipping centers in 2012, each training planters who are

 being sent out by various churches in the area

                       

3.     Advance Church Planting through the Accelerate Blog/Web site:

1.    Highlighting God at work through story telling

2.    Recruiting and connecting potential planters to churches, networks and denominations

3.    Communicating resources and events for encouraging and equipping church planters

                        Goal: Site operating by March 2012

4.     Develop the Accelerate organization and raise funds for ministry operations:

1.    Develop an Advisory Team of business leaders and pastors

Goal: Initial team by December 2011

2.    Raise operating funds to free up staff to resource leaders         

Goal: Partnering as a ministry of Faith in the Family for 501c3 status by Nov. 2011

                        Goal: Raise 50% of funds by June 2012, 100% by December 2012

Accelerate: An Alliance to Accelerate Church Planting in the W/B Corridor

What if? What if collaborating could accelerate church planting. What if we could see more church planters stepping out in faith, gathering faith filled teams, and making a difference for the Kingdom of God.

That is the goal of Accelerate. As an affiliate of Exponential Network, we want to take want we have learned through the conferences and working together to impact the Washington Baltimore corridor for Christ.
